I have not really checked, but UT Dallas has a campus in Irving, so it would be close. Not sure about the IT programs. There is always SMU in Highland Park, but it wont be cheap compared to UTD.

As Texkonc says, SMU is here and they are one of the most respected schools in the southern US.  They aren't "nearby", they are "right here."  Tons of other schools too.
